Scholarship

The Georgia Junior Livestock Foundation purpose is to promote youth livestock exhibitors across the state by recognizing young people for their involvement, leadership and dedication to the livestock industry, and success with their livestock projects. Through fundraising initiatives implemented by the GJLF, the board will be able to financially support programs targeting those young people while gaining a higher recognition of the livestock industry.

The Georgia Junior Livestock Foundation is offering one $1,500 scholarship in memory of Lee Harris Jr. and five $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors who have been actively involved in the Georgia Junior livestock program. These scholarships will be awarded to senior students who are exhibiting at the GJLF Expo.

Timeline:

  • Application deadline is November 8, 2024
  • The Top applicants will be notified by email and announced on social media on December 2, 2024.
  • In-person interviews will be conducted of the top finalists at the GJLF Expo on December 13, 2024.
  • Scholarships will be awarded on Friday night, December 13, 2024, at the GJLF Expo.

2023 GJLF Scholarship Recipients

The Georgia Junior Livestock Foundation presented one $1,500 scholarship in memory of
Lee Harris Jr. and five – $1,000 scholarships in 2023 to high school seniors who have
participated in the Georgia Junior Livestock Show. These scholarships are awarded to
students who have shown beef, dairy, swine, sheep or goats at the state show at
least once during their four years of high school.
